Koya's design ethos draws inspiration from the Wellington-style glasses, a style that significantly influenced the eyewear scene in the United States during the 1950s.
These glasses are distinctively characterized by their inverted trapezoidal shape, wider at the top and tapering towards the bottom, with a soft curvature at all four corners. This design imparts a softer impression compared to traditional rectangular frames, which was one of the reasons for their widespread acceptance among college students of that era.
Building on the foundational Wellington design, Koya has incorporated engraved metal nose pads into the glasses. This subtle addition enhances the aesthetics of the glasses while elevating the comfort level for the user.
